Blue Room
First board shaped in 2014 a 70's inspired 7-0 swallow single. Stoked on all the improvements I made to my shack too. Major remodel to prepare for cold winter days. First was a new roof, shingles and plywood button her down. Then I insulated the walls and put up drywall all around. Some primer, blue paint, new shelves and soon to be more lights with ventilation. Sooo mo betta!

Finless
Finished up this finless creation made from an old thruster that had seen better days.
Took it out yesterday and it was like surfing all over again.
The feeling of drift is so addictive I just wanted to catch one wave after another to get it again.
Enjoy this rad video from Hot Buttered and get inspired to ride the surface tension.

Byrne
This short excerpt from the film "Last paradise," has a wonderful view into
the past that Allan Byrne experienced on the wild coast of New Zealand.
The spot on "skurfing," inspired me to sand off the fin on this recycled
board from a previous post and add a redwood keel.
I'm interested in seeing how this thing will "Skurf"!

Bucksported
It took awhile, but I feel proud to be finished with this historic project. These are before and after shots of the restoration, every square inch was repainted. If you find yourself headed up US101 look out for this mural as you enter Eureka, maybe grab some lunch at Golden Harvest Cafe next door and enjoy the view from a booth.
Now that this project is behind me I have some time for much needed R and D going on in the shop. Stay tuned for the new boards I'm cooking up.

Leif's Fish
I recently got to shape a fish for someone I've seen giving the waves a run for their money since I started surfing. Leif Nelson was looking for a board that could work on smaller days when he'd rather leave the longboard on the beach for a change. Although this fish can go in the bigger stuff too with the help of a twin plus one option.
To make this order fulfilled I pulled in the tail more than a traditional fish in hopes to have a shorter turning radius and release off the top. I also modernized the rails and bottom concaves to bring the performance to a new level. The fins we went with are the Hobie Twin keels from True Ames with a classic nubster and an up-cycled shark tooth fin to give this twin more control options. Green Poly Usblank with cedar stringer, polyester resin, black pin-line, and a resin leash loop, measuring in at 5'11" x 20 1/2" x 2 3/4" get some Leif!
