Cypress Grove

Cypress Grove Chevre of Arcata requested me to paint a mural on their old historic barn. Upon starting the project, there was remanence of a similar themed mural that had since chipped away over time. These few remaining pieces had to be scraped clean to prepare the surface for a fresh start. This is my homage to the old mural, but in my style and hand, plus a few goats of course! Overall the project was an amazing trip, hanging from a 30ft scaffolding, painting in the sun, and snacking on chevre with apples and walnuts. If you happen to be in the area stop by
1330 Q st. Arcata and enjoy the view. Thank you to the Cypress Grove Crew!

Micro Groovy

7'0" swallow single. Here's the latest custom creation for Billy Pinnix. Teal resin tint, with resin art inlay, and black pins set this shape off. I tried my hand at "Micro-Grooves" which were invented by Peter St Pierre, to give the tail extra bite. Finished off with a resin leash loop and Parrish single-fin from True Ames. Beauty!
All construction done by Lucas Thornton in the Humboldt Nation!

Blue Room

First board shaped in 2014 a 70's inspired 7-0 swallow single. Stoked on all the improvements I made to my shack too. Major remodel to prepare for cold winter days. First was a new roof, shingles and plywood button her down. Then I insulated the walls and put up drywall all around. Some primer, blue paint, new shelves and soon to be more lights with ventilation. Sooo mo betta!

Finless

Finished up this finless creation made from an old thruster that had seen better days.
Took it out yesterday and it was like surfing all over again.
The feeling of drift is so addictive I just wanted to catch one wave after another to get it again.
Enjoy this rad video from Hot Buttered and get inspired to ride the surface tension.

Byrne

This short excerpt from the film "Last paradise," has a wonderful view into
the past that Allan Byrne experienced on the wild coast of New Zealand.
The spot on "skurfing," inspired me to sand off the fin on this recycled
board from a previous post and add a redwood keel.
I'm interested in seeing how this thing will "Skurf"!

Mario's Bonzer

Mario Maggio ordered up a custom 5 fin Bonzer to expand his surfing experience. We went all out creating a beautiful one of a kind Surfcraft. Resin tint top and bottom, custom logo, and a white resin pin line set off this clean stubby Bonzer. I've always aspired to the Campbell brothers and their outstanding creativity in design. Mario was stoked!
